ROSUVASTATIN CALCIUM
is a cholesterol-lowering drug that is marketed by AstraZeneca and has been approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for use in adults and adolescents aged 12 to 18 years. It is also approved to treat high-risk patients for type 2 diabetes mellitus and rheumatoid arthritis.
The approval for Rosuvastatin calcium was based on results from an open-label, phase III clinical study in 12,852 adults and adolescents with type 2 diabetes. The drug had a primary endpoint for which data was available in patients with diabetes, and a secondary endpoint in patients with elevated body mass index.
In a separate study, the FDA approved rosuvastatin in patients with and without prediabetes to treat high-risk patients for type 2 diabetes. Rosuvastatin is a lipophilic compound that reduces the amount of LDL, thereby lowering the risk of cardiovascular events, such as atherosclerosis, heart attacks and stroke.
The company is working on a potential new cholesterol-lowering drug with a unique combination of rosuvastatin and a synthetic form of the compound.
The FDA granted the company a marketing authorization in June 2012 for Crestor, which is an oral tablet that is taken once a day and is taken only when a patient's cholesterol levels are high.
The company has also received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a new class of drugs called statins, including a statin called Lipitor, which is used to lower cholesterol. The drug has been approved to treat people with type 2 diabetes, and has been approved to treat high-risk patients for high-risk people.
The company is also seeking approval from the FDA for the development and marketing of a new product in the same class of drugs as the original cholesterol-lowering drug, Crestor. The company is also seeking approval from the FDA for a new product to treat high-risk patients for high-risk patients for low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels, such as those seen in adults with diabetes. Rosuvastatin and its generic equivalent, Crestor, are the only two statins approved for the treatment of patients with type 2 diabetes.
“Our recent approval of rosuvastatin calcium is a reminder that, despite a lack of substantial clinical data, statins remain a highly effective treatment option for patients with type 2 diabetes. This approval marks the first indication that statins may be considered for treatment in patients with type 2 diabetes. Statins, such as rosuvastatin and lisinopril, are now the most commonly prescribed drugs in the US. It is important to note that the efficacy and safety of these medications cannot be overstated.”
ROSUVASTATIN CHESTAstraZeneca's (Astra), which has received approval from the FDA for the new cholesterol-lowering drug, Crestor. AstraZeneca has been granted marketing authorization in October 2011 for its cholesterol-lowering drug Crestor, which is a cholesterol-lowering drug. The company has been granted a marketing authorization for this new drug. AstraZeneca has been granted marketing authorization in May 2012 for its new cholesterol-lowering drug, Rosuvastatin Calcium, which is a statin, as well as a new cholesterol-lowering product, Crestor. The company has received approval from the FDA for a new product that combines rosuvastatin with an inactive ingredient, the hydrazine salt of the compound. The hydrazine salt is an anti-inflammatory drug that works by blocking the production of certain natural substances that cause inflammation. The hydrazine salt of the compound works by reducing inflammation and blocking the action of prostaglandin-dependent cyclooxygenase enzymes. Rosuvastatin is also being studied in a similar way to the hydrazine salt of the compound in other cholesterol-lowering drugs.
In a press release, AstraZeneca announced that it has received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for a new drug to treat high-risk patients for type 2 diabetes. The drug is indicated for people who have diabetes mellitus, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or have risk factors for cardiovascular disease.
